Berhampur: Lingaraj Law College Employee Caught in Vig Net, Rs 18 Lakh Cash Recovered

Berhampur: Continuing its crackdown on corruption, the vigilance sleuths today recovered more than Rs 18 lakh from the house of a government college employee here after raids.

Based on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by Prashant Kumar Nayak, DLR typist Govt. Lingaraj Law College, Berhampur, simultaneous raids were conducted at multiple places by the vigilance officers.

The anti-corruption team led by Santanu Kumar Padhi, Vigilance Additional Superintendent of Police at Berhampur Division, carried out multiple house searches at Berhampur, such as triple storied building-cum-motor spare parts shop at Aska Road, triple storied residential new building at bank colony, double storied godown at Aska road, rented godown at Brundabati Nagar and rented godown at Bishnunaga.

So far hard cash of Rs.18,05,010 has been recovered from the house of Nayak.

The investigation was underway at the time of filing of this report.
