Berhampur Police Launches “One Lakh Mask” Campaign

Berhampur: Intensifying its enforcement and awareness drive against COVID-19, Berhampur Police today launched special “One Lakh Mask” campaign.

The campaign has been launched by Berhampur SP, Pinak Mishra from MKCG vending zones.

As part of the campaigning, two masks will be distributed to each person with a pamphlet with dos and donts. Aim is to distribute 1 lakh masks in the first phase in Berhampur city.

Besides, bikes and vehicles will be restricted in all the vegetable vending zones which is drawing crowd and compromising social distancing.

“Free washable cloth masks will be distributed to poor, under privileged and small vegetable and fruit vendor. Many civil society organizations have come forward and generated cloth masks generously”, Mishra told thenewsroom.co.in.

When asked about the focus of the campaigning, he said, “Focus will be on crowd management, besides Imposing fines on willful violators, creating awareness amongst the under privileged and the poor.”
