Berhampur Police Solves Choudhury Tikarpada Murder Case; Two Arrested

Berhampur: The Berhampur Police solved the Choudhury Tikarpada murder case and arrested two persons in this connection.

The arrested persons have been identified as Padman Sahu (30) and Rubita Adhikari (45) of Choudhury Tikarpada village under K.Nuagaon PS in Digapahandi block.

On the night of January 8 one Bishnu Priya Sahu (31) of Choudhury Tikarpada village was found missing from house. Her body was found by the family members next night from behind the house of neighbor in suspicious circumstances.

Based on the complaint of Bishnu Priya’s father, a murder case was registered in which he alleged that his daughter was murdered by unknown culprits.

During course of investigation the police revealed that the missing woman was of 80% of mentally disabled. She used to sleep in night in her younger sister’s house located diagonally opposite to her father’s house. On January 8 night after taking dinner Bishnu Priya’s went to sleep at her sister’s house and was found missing from the village and later her dead was found the next day night around 11 PM. Scientific team and police dog were utilized at the spot. Accused Rubita Adhikary’s house was just adjacent to the spot where the dead body was found.

Based on strong suspicion she was interrogated and she disclosed that she was having an extra-marital relationship with another accused Padman Sahu of same village since the last seven years. On the intervening night Padman Sahu had come to her house and at that time Bishnu Priya’s saw both of them inside the home. Fearing that their relationship would get disclosed before the villagers they murdered the deceased on the bed by smothering her face using a pillow.

Both the accused persons have been arrested and forwarded today to the court of JMFC, Digapahandi. The case is under investigation, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
