Berhampur: Woman Child Welfare Committee Member Killed, Involvement of Driver Suspected

Berhampur: A Woman Child Welfare Committee member was brutally murdered at Nilakantha Nagar under Gosaninuagaon police limits in Berhampur.

The deceased has been identified as Soudamini Rath.

The gruesome murder took place last night.

Soudamini was killed while she was talking on her mobile phone at home yesterday.

The Berhampur Police has launched the investigation into the incident. The involvement of Soudamini’s driver has been suspected.

The police has detained the driver and is interrogating him.

According to Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M., the Woman Child Welfare Committee member had gone to Bhubaneswar for three days. But she came back one day before.

The driver broke into her house with the intention of stealing. When she saw her, he attacked her.

The driver is suspected to have killed Soudamini because she saw the driver last night.

Meanwhile, the Police has intensified its investigation into the matter.
