Kendrapada: Bhitarakanika National Park has recorded the arrival of more number of migratory birds than the previous year. According to the bird census carried out yesterday, there has been an increase in the number of migratory birds in Bhitarakanika this year as compared to last year. This year, the National Park has recorded 1, 51, 421 migratory birds. Last year, the number was 1,39,959. But this year, the number of bird species seen in the Park is less than last year. The enumerators have recorded 121 species of birds while it was 140 last year. The large whistling duck species of bird is the most popular one. This year, a rare common seal duck bird has also been spotted in Bhitarakanika.
