Bhubaneswar Becomes First City in India To Achieve Cent Percent Vaccination

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar has become the first city in the country to fully vaccinate all its citizens against Covid-19. As on 30th July 2021, 18 lakh 35 thousand 903 doses of Covaxine has been administered in the city. While 10 lakh 59 thousand 753 persons have been given the ist dose of the vaccine, 7 lakh 76 thousand 150 persons have received their both doses, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Lakhmikant Sethi.

He also said that “All residents of Bhubaneswar have been vaccinated against the virus and the remaining non-residents of the city will soon be fully vaccinated.”

Earlier, the target was to vaccinate all the people of Bhubaneswar by the end of August, but it has been achieved by the end of July. The target was to give 18 lakh 14 thousand 14 thousand doses in total and by Friday, it was achieved.

According to officials, there are no issues related to availability of vaccines in Bhubaneswar. All the Vaccination centers are open and the crowd in those centers has diminished.
