Bhubaneswar Covid Plateau May Flatten In the Coming Week: BMC Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: The Corona virus trend in the capital city of Bhubaneswar is showing signs of stagnation and is in a plateau position right now which is expected to reverse or flatten in the coming week. Data shows that despite large scale testing the number of positive cases is not increasing alarmingly. In the last six to seven days, the number of positive cases in BMC areas has remained between 300 to 400, which is a positive sign for the administration. Briefing media, BMC Commissioner Premchandra Chaudhury said that 74 percent positive people are staying in home isolation. BMC has 54 RRTs actively involved in the fight against Corona. The dedicated 1929 toll free number has been proving valuable help to the people 24 * 7.

The authorities are increasing the number of beds in the capital city. While there are 2500 normal beds under its jurisdiction, there are 454 ICU beds for critical patients. More than three thousand people are under home isolation in Bhubaneswar, Choudhury said.
