Bhubaneswar: Rural Works Asst Engineer Arrested for Taking Bribe from Contractor 

Bhubaneswar: Naresh Kumar Das, Asst Engineer, Rural Works (PH) Division, Bhubaneswar has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance for taking bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a contractor for clearing his bills.

During the further investigations, the Vigilance sleuths seized cash worth Rs.3.56 from Das including trap amount of Rs.1 Lakh, cash Rs.1.26 Lakhs from his personal search, and cash Rs 1.30 Lakhs from his rented house in Bhubaneswar.

A case, Bhubaneswar Vigilance Police Station Case No. 5/2025, has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
