Malkangiri: In a significant development, Odisha 5T Secretary V Karthikeya Pandian today made surprise visits to district headquarters hospital in Malkangiri and SLN Medical College & Hospital in Koraput to review implementation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative.
Accompanied by NHM Secretary Shalini Pandit and Principal Secretary Finance Ashok Meena, Pandian reached the Malkangiri district headquarters hospital from MV3 BSF camp here to take feedback from the ground.
The 5T Secretary talked to the patients about the delivery of services at the hospital in the presence of District Collector and SP.
Pandian assured that steps will be taken to engage two specialist doctors every week for better healthcare services to the patients at the hospital. He also assured that retired specialist doctors will be appointed in future to address the shortage of specialist doctors at the hospital, informed the CDMO.
Pandian also visited the SLN Medical College & Hospital in Koraput to review implementation of the Mo Sarkar initiative there.
Collector Madhusudan Mishra, Sub-collector Lokanath Dalabehera and other senior officials were present at the review meeting at Koraput.
During one-day trip to three districts, the trio reached Jeypore in a special aircraft in the morning and headed for Malkangiri first then Koraput.
Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on October 2 launched the people-centric ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative that aims to seek feedback on the kind of response people get during recent visits to police stations and district headquarter hospitals (DHH).
