New Delhi: In a major blow to the image of Narendra Modi and incumbent BJP in Jharkhand, the Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) alliance is all set to form the government in the State.
The Congress-JMM-RJD alliance is staying way above the majority mark of 41 in the 81-member assembly, as per emerging trends of the Election Commission.
Hemant Soren, who is the face of the alliance, is set to take over the top post, had visited his father and JMM chief Shibu Soren to seek his blessings, according to the reports.
He is tipped to be the Chief Minister on the alliance winning the polls.
There have been celebrations at Congress headquarters here as functionaries distributed sweets.
Meanwhile, the results has given a jolt to the BJP, which had lost Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to Congress last year.
The saffron party was also removed from power in Maharashtra.
Elections were conducted for Jharkhand in five phases from November 30 to December 20.
