Bhubaneswar: Newly-elected Bijepur MLA-elect Rita Sahu met Biju Janata Dal president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at latter’s residence here on Friday.
The BJD supremo congratulated Rita Sahu, who won the Bijepur by-poll with a huge margin of 97,990 votes at the end of 21 rounds counting.
Rita Sahu expressed her gratitude to the BJD President for reposing faith on her and also thanked the people of Bijepur for showering their love on her.
Talking to the media, the BJD MLA-elect said that she will work for the overall development of her constituency with special focus to Gangadhar irrigation project.
Sahu further said that she will also work towards the betterment of roads and hospitals and the empowerment of women.
