Biju Janata Dal Lashes Out At BJP on PMAYG Housing Allocation Issue; Alleges State BJP Leaders Are Shedding Crocodile Tears

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra today lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party for its step-motherly attitude to Odisha in allocation of PMAY Gramin houses. Sasmit has alleged that the Center is intentionally not giving the required number of houses to the state. He said that a large number of beneficiaries have been left out from the list of PMAY houses. While Odisha needs about 15 lakh houses, only 8 lakh houses have been sanctioned.

Speaking at the press conference along with Srimayee Mishra, Sasmit has said that if the Narendra Modi Government does not give the required number of houses, the State Government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will give the poor people their houses. The BJP MPs are only shedding crocodile tears…they are just doing a drama….if they are really concerned about the poor people of Odisha, thet they must go the Center and ask for changing the guidelines and give houses to poor.

He also said that, if the list has ineligible beneficiaries, then the BJP leaders can go to the center and recommend the names and prepare a list. The BJP members created hurdles and stopped the sanction of houses in Odisha. This is a black phase in Odisha political history. This is a conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Center is also trying to discontinue the scheme for the poor, he alleged.

The Biju Janata Dal will continue its struggle for the rights of the poor people. The BJP leadership and members have have done great injustice to the people of Odisha. Why did the BJP MPs sit quietly while the central government was making the guidelines, he asked. Why not they are asking to change the guidelines.
