Bhubaneswar: In the wake of outbreak of bird flu in some areas in Odisha, Public Health Director Bijay Mohapatra urged the people of the State to avoid eating chicken for a few days.
The senior health official has issued an advisory, insisting the districts to take preventive measure to tackle the spread of bird flu.
Mohapatra also said a district-wise team shall be formed for fever surveillance.
As per the reports, Pipili is now a hotspot of bird flu in the state. A rapid response team has gone to Pipili to access the situation A containment zone has been declared in the areas where the flu has been detected, he said.
People should not come in contact of birds suffering from the flu, the health official added.
