Bhubaneswar: Biswaranjan Mallick, former State executive member of BJP and one of the key leaders from Bari Assembly constituency constituency in Jajpur district, joined Biju Janata Dal (BJD) here on Friday.
Mallick, who had quit the saffron party on October 21, joined the ruling BJD along with his supporters at a ‘Mishran Parba’ organised at the party state headquarters in Bhubaneswar in presence of various party leaders.
BJD organization secretary Pranab Prakash Das welcomed the new members to the party fold and said that their induction will further strengthen the BJD in Bari.
Jajpur MP Sarmistha Sethi, Dharmasala MLA Pranab Kumar Balabantaray and other BJD leaders were present at the Mishran Parba.
Notably, Biswaranjan had lost 2019 Assembly polls from Bari assembly constituency in Jajpur district by a narrow margin of 4,062 votes.
