BJD Announces Fortnight Long Celebrations For Biju Jayanti

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal is going to celebrate the 104th Birth Anniversary of former Chief Minister and architect of modern Odisha Late Biju Patnaik for fifteen days starting with March 5th. The party along with its various front organizations will celebrate the occasion with much pump and gaiety.

This years’ Birth Anniversary celebrations assume more significance, as the BJD led government is also going to complete its 20th year in power. Speaking to media on the party’s decision about the fortnight long celebrations, senior leader Debi Prasad Mishra said during this period, the people of Odisha will be enlightened on the great sacrifices and contribution of Biju Babu towards the country and Odisha. Besides, the party will also pay tributes to eminent freedom fighters of the country during this period.

Also, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which is falling during this celebration period, the BJD has planned a number of meetings to discuss on the development practices and felicitate women leadership. Likewise, the frontal organizations of the BJD such as Biju Yuva Janata Dal and Biju Chatra Janata Dal will organize voluntary blood donation programme Jeevan Bindoo during these celebrations.
