BJD Demands Houses for Tribals under PMAY-G

New Delhi: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal today demanded houses for the tribals from the State under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).

During Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha, the BJD MPs – Dr. Sasmit Patra, Dr. Amar Patnaik and Sujeet Kumar – raised the issue of Centre not opening the Awas Plus Portal of PMAY(G) for addition of 6 lakh houses of Odisha which comprises of primarily tribals from the western, southern and KBK districts of Odisha.

The MPs further stated that despite Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s repeated requests the Awas Portal is not being opened while it was opened for Karnataka to add 25 lakh houses on 13th January, 2022.

The BJD MPs demanded the Awas Plus Portal of the PMAY(G) be opened immediately so that the six lakh people of Odisha who are primarily tribals from scheduled areas would benefit.
