BJD MLAs Demand Declaration of Paika Rebellion as First War of Independence, Stage Dharna In Assembly

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal MLAs today demanded that the Paika Rebellion of Odisha be declared as the first War of Independence in the country. The legislators wore facemasks of Jayi Rajguru and staged demonstrations inside the Assembly and sit on a protest near the Gandhi Statue inside the premises. People of Odisha have been demanding the Center to recognize the Paika Rebellion as the first War of Independence for long.
