BJD MP Raises Issues Pertaining to Development of Tribals of Odisha in Parliament 

Bhubaneswar/ New Delhi: Biju Janata Dal MP Dr. Sasmit Patra on Wednesday raised the crucial issues pertaining to the development of tribals of Odisha in the Parliament.

The BJD MP raised the issues pending with the Centre relating to the tribals of Odisha during the ongoing winter session in the Rajya Sabha.

Dr. Patra demanded inclusion of Ho, Mundari, Bhumij, Saora and Kui languages in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.

The BJD MP sought the inclusion of 169 communities in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list of Odisha. He also sought withdrawal of 18 per cent GST on Kendu leaves.

The BJD MP reiterated the repeated requests made by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to the Centre in these regards.
