BJD MP Sasmit Patra Presides in Rajya Sabha, Oversees Passage of Three Labour Bills

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha Vice Chairman and Biju Janata Dal MP Dr. Sasmit Patra today presided in the Rajya Sabha and oversaw the voting and passage of three Labour Bills.

 

On Tuesday, he had presided and oversaw the voting and passage of his first two Bills, the National Forensic Sciences University Bill 2020 followed by the second Bill titled Rashtriya Raksha University Bill 2020.

He has been consecutively presiding in Rajya Sabha over the past 3-4 days and MPs across Party lines have been appreciating his efficient coordination and conducting of the House.

Last Saturday the BJD MP debuted as a Vice Chairman of Rajya Sabha in the House.

It was for the first time in 20 years, that an Odia MP has Presided over the Rajya Sabha proceedings.
