New Delhi: Odisha’s Biju Janata Dal MPs again met the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and requested to release to Odisha the pending basic and performance grants in respect of 114 ULBs arising out of 14th Finance Commission recommendations amounting to around Rs. 700 crore immediately as the matter is pending for the last 4 years now.
She assured to immediately look into it.
The Finance Minister also mentioned that she had already spoken to the RBI Governor yesterday on the BJD MP’s request for ensuring safety of the fixed deposit of temple trust kept in YES bank.
BJD MP’s Prasanna Acharya, Dr. Amar Patnaik, Sarojini Hembram and Dr. Sasmit Patra were the BJD MPs that met the Minister today.
