BJD Targets to Enroll over 1 Lakh Active Women Members, 25 Lakh General Members: Pramila Mallik

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal’s ongoing membership drive has reached out to the block and ward levels in the state. The party targets to enroll over one lakh active women members and over 25 lakh general members through the membership drive, said BJD Chief Whip Pramila Mallik.

The membership drive has been running smoothly across the state, said the senior BJD leader.

Coming down heavily on the BJP government, Mallik said that several shocking incidents have happened in the last five months including the rape in Keonjhar and Cuttack. The Chief Minister is maintaining silence. He should express his regret and said that such things should have not happened.

The BJD Chief Whip further said that the Deputy Chief Minister has never visited to the ground and misled the people.

The Deputy CM said that the BJP government will change the history. Indeed, they changed the history because in the last 24 years, no one had eaten mango kernel, Mallik said.

The BJP government has only changed the name, color and staff, they have not done anything for the people. The government has failed to do what the common people expected. Crime against the women is increasing. The government is silently harassing the people. How can the government say that the administration is running smoothly even after rapes occurred three months after the new government came to power?

Naveen Patnaik had made the state a surplus state, the current government came with the slogan of change and fed the people mango kernel. People died. But the government is in deep sleep. The administration is not running as it should be, the senior BJD leader added.
