Bhubaneswar: Ruling Biju Janata Dal on Friday urged the BJP not to do politics over sensitive issues like rape, which has far reaching implications in the society.
Responding to BJP’s allegations, BJD national spokesperson Dr. Sasmit Patra said, “We all are sad over the incident like rape and the accused should get the stringent punishment for deterrence”.
Instead of doing politics, the BJP should co-operate the government for remedial measures, he added.
In the incident like rape both the victim and her family remain under mental stress and any irresponsible statement without facts makes thing difficult for them, he said.
Despite of repeated requests to BJP, it is not refraining itself from doing politics over sensitive issues like rape, the BJD spokesperson added.
Responding on the KALIA scheme, Patra said, it’s a revolutionary step taken by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to enhance income of the farmers.
Lakhs of farmers are getting benefit from this scheme, he added.
