BJD’s Vivek Reddy Elected as Youngest Deputy Mayor of BeMC

Berhampur: E. Vivek Reddy has become the youngest Deputy Mayor of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC).

The 26-year old BJD leader has won the election to the post of Deputy Mayor, which was held on Friday.

Vivek Reddy made a comfort victory getting 34 votes. While BJP candidate D Karunakar got 7 votes , one independent Corporator abstained from voting.

Vivek Reddy, who registered an empathetic victory in the recently held urban polls from Ward No. 42, has expressed his deep gratitude to Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik and OSD to CM Dr. Gopabandhu Dash for reposing faith in him.

Talking to Newsroomodisha.com, Vivek, a resident of Ambapua area in Berhampur, said that he will work for the development of the people of Berhampur following the ideologies and principles of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Vivek won the Corporator election by 2325 votes, which is the highest margin victory in the recently concluded BeMC elections.

Earlier, the BJD has bagged the BeMC Mayor post with victory of its candidate Sanghamitra Dalei.
