Bhubaneswar: While Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking inclusion of Six Lakh identified eligible households under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin scheme in respect of the districts not affected by Cyclone Fani, the Bharatiya Janata Party on the other hand is indulging in baseless allegations that are counterproductive for the welfare of the people of Odisha. Addressing the media, Biju Janata Dal spokesperson Lenin Mohanty has said that, Odisha has been awarded by the Center for its better implementation of the rural housing scheme, but BJP state president Samir Mohanty is trying to defame the successes of the state government. We urge the BJP that instead of defaming the state government they should work for the development of the rural housing scheme.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today wrote a letter to the PM seeking additional houses under the PMAY-G and also thanked him for the center allocating a target of 8.17 lakh houses for Odisha. Naveen had mentioned that “Aawaas+ window was opened by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India only for 14 Cyclone “FANI” affected districts for a period of one month. The process of identification could not be taken up in the remaining 16 districts not affected by Cyclone “FANI”. These are predominantly tribal dominated districts and cover all the KBK areas. State has identified the left-out eligible HHs in these Districts through State developed RH Portal observing the procedure similar to Aawaas+”.
Further criticizing the BJP leaders for their narrow mindedness Lenin said, “The people of Odisha will not forgive those who are defaming the government with false allegations. Bjp’s efforts will deprive poor people from getting a roof over their heads.”
