BMC Issues Show Cause Notice To Private Lab In Bhubaneswar For Issuing Fake Covid Positive Report

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has issued a show cause notice to a private laboratory based in Bhubaneswar for issuing fake a Covid positive report. The notice has been issued after media reports claimed that a person has received a positive Covid Report from a popular diagnostics center by giving false Adhaar card and details.

The media report also cited the involvement of an arranger for the fake receipt. The test report was also published in the media and which was verified to be genuine report issued from the laboratory with fake readings thereon.

The notice reads, “It is therefore confirmed that your lab has issued fake COVID positive certificate to random person without following proper procedure. You are therefore called upon to show cause within three days (72 Hours) of receipt of this notice why the license issued by the competent authority will not be cancelled for violating the provision of relevant statutes/License conditions and action as per Epidemic Diseses Act will not be taken against you.”
