Kendrapada: A passenger boat carrying more than thirty people and going from Paradip in Jagatsinghpur to Bahakuda in Kendrapada district was washed away today in the flood waters of the Mahanadi river. The boat is said to have been washed away four to five kilometers from its designated route. There are reports that the engine of the boat malfunctioned. The Marine police have swung into action and rescue operation is on. More details awaited.
