Gopalpur: In a further boost to the Biju Shramik Samukhya’s organizational strength in Gopalpur Assembly Constituency in Odisha’s Ganjam district, hundreds of grassroots workers have joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal’s trade union wing on Saturday.
At an induction programme, more than 200 fishing community members and construction workers, mostly women members took the primary membership of BSS.
BJD supermo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s good governance, development works and women empowerment initiatives have motivated them to join the party’s trade union front, expressed the new entrants.
BJD Organizational Secretary and Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das attended the programme as chief guest through video conferencing and welcomed the new members the BSS.
Dr. Gopabandhu Dash, OSD to CM Naveen Patnaik, also attended the programme as a guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Dash highlighted various people-centric development programmes of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Ganjam District BJD President and Odisha Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (OBOCWWB) Chairman Dr. Ramesh Chandra Chyau Pattnaik was present at the induction programme.
Several members of BJP and Congress also joined the BJD in Gopalpur Assembly Constituency.
