Boudh: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police has rescued two live pangolins and arrested two wildlife criminals in this connection in Boudh district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of STF conducted raid with the help of forest officials of Boudh Forest Division last evening near Boudh Bypass road and held the smugglers while they were trying to sell pangolins.
The wildlife criminals have been identified as Uchhab Kanhar and Bighna Kanhar, residents of Jamukhol area under Tikarapada panchayat in Baghiapada forest session in Boudh.
The STF recovered two live pangolins weighing 13 kg & 10 kg respectively along with other incriminating materials from the possession of Uchhab and Bighna.
The accused persons could not produce any authority in support of the possession of the pangolin for which they have been apprehended, the STF said.
