Berhampur: Berhampur Police seized around 29 gram of brown sugar and arrested two persons in this connection.
The accused persons have been identified as Ranjan Das(35) and Ruturanjan Nimai (29). They are from Dhanamera Sahi under Bada Bazar PS in Berhampur.
Based on credible information regarding illegal selling of brown Sugar at Khalikote University Ground to public, a raid was conducted by the police and two persons were apprehended.
Police also seized mobile phone, one polythene packet containing 10 small pieces of yellow colour papers of size 2″ x 2″ and a tiny spoon, and Rs 4270 cash from the possession of the accused persons.
Both Das and Nimai are also involved in the many criminal cases, police said.
Further investigation is underway to find out the source of the seized brown sugar, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
