Bhubaneswar: The much ambitious Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana Smart Health Cards have become functional from today across the state. The Smart Cards can now be used in any of the Government Hospital of the state and more than 20 private hospitals in and outside the state. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the distribution of the free Smart Health cards under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana in Malkangiri on Aug 21. The government has made efforts to give free Smart Health Cards to about 96 lakh households consisting about 3.5 crore beneficiaries.
The Smart Health Card will help the beneficiaries immensely as they just need to carry the card and no other documents for the needed treatment. The BSKY Smart Card will also enable treatment at over 200 private hospitals across the country. Each family member can avail treatment benefits up to Rs 5 lakh per annum under the scheme. For women members, the limit is Rs 10 lakh.
