Berhampur: A chaotic situation
prevailed in the Berhampur University campus as a girls’ hostel building of the varsity collapsed at around noon today.
A major portion of Saberi hostel building of the university collapsed. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
Most of the students were not in the hostel when the incident took place as they had gone to attend classes, sources said.
Nine rooms of the hostel have been damaged in the mishap, reports stated.
The Saberi hostel accommodates around 104 students. It has a total of 40 rooms.
The students were shifted to Chilika hostel following the mishap, sources said.
