CBI Arrests Two Bengal Ministers Firhad Hakim, Subrata Mukherjee in Narada Sting Case

Kolkata: In a dramatic development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested West Bengal ministers Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee today in a five-year-old corruption case, reports said.

CBI’s action in what is known as the Narada sting operation case stirred a political controversy in the West Bengal.

Apart from Hakim and Mukherjee, TMC legislator Madan were arrested.

Meanwhile Chief minister Mamata Banerjee reached Hakim’s house in a show of solidarity.

She has started a sit-in in CBI’s Kolkata office to protest the arrest of her party leaders, provoking an unusual Centre-state confrontation of sorts.
