Puri: This year’s Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath has concluded peacefully and set an example before the world. As per the tradition, the chariot-breaking ceremony begins after the conclusion of Rath Yatra. But, this year, the three chariots of the holy Trinity will not be broken.
The chariots will be preserved to remember the uniqueness of the festival which was conducted without the congregation of devotees in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee and the Chhatisha Niyog of Srimandir had passed a resolution to preserve the chariots of this year’s Rath Yatra, said Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration Dr. Krishan Kumar.
