Chief Secretary Reviews Developmental Projects In Sundargarh

Rourkela: Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra went on a two-day visit to Sundargarh and reviewed the various developmental projects of the district. On the first day of the visit today, he reviewed the under construction Kopsinga Barrage and advised officials for timely completion of the same. He also visited the Sundargarh Medical College and Hospital where classes will begin from this academic year. The Chief Secretary also reviewed the Integrated Traffic Management System installed to check and penalize traffic violations in the district.

During the discussions, Chief Secretary has said that the two barrage works on the Ib river will begin soon as the tender process has been completed. The Sundargarh Medical College will be functional from this year and treatment facilities will also begin soon. The process of appointment of Principal, Superintendent, Professors and Assistant Professors has been complete.

On the second day of the visit tomorrow, the Chief Secretary will visit and review the works related to the International Hockey Stadium being constructed inside the BPUT campus in Rourkela. He is also scheduled to review the various development works associated with the Rourkela Smart City.

Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, SP Sagarika Nath, CDMO Saroj Kumar Mohapatra and other senior officials of the district were also present during the review today.
