Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena will hold a preparatory meeting today on summer cyclone. The meeting is scheduled to be held at the Lok Seva Bhawan. The meeting will deliberate on the preparations for facing any probable summer cyclones in the state.
The meeting holds significance as Odisha is now getting frequent cyclones in the summer season for the last few years. Cyclones Fani, Yash, Amfan had come during the summer months and affected the state.
The Special Relief Commissioner has written to all senior officials of departments including ODRAF, NDRF, Fire Services, Telecom, Meteorological, Agriculture, Energy, Animal Husbandry etc., to be present during the meeting. The priority will be on repair of roads, restoration of electricity, clearance of road communication, safety of women and children etc.
