Phulabani: Christmas Eve was celebrated with full fervor in Odisha’s Kandhamal district as thousands of people gathered in churches and decked up cathedrals.
In the last two years, Christmas celebrations had been completely muted in this southern Odisha district due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The churches in Kandhamal are gearing up to celebrate the Christmas on a grand scale. The churches are being illuminated and are gearing up for the midnight mass.
Various cultural programmes are being organized across the students on the Christmas Eve.
The students of Carmel School and other schools celebrated the Eve with much religious spirit with shows of Jesus’s birth and words from the holy Bibles besides songs, dance, cake cutting and special dance with Santa and distribution of gifts.
The Kandhamal administration has made elaborate arrangements for the peaceful celebrations of Christmas.
