Cuttack: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has attended the foundation laying ceremony of the Centre for Judicial Archives at Cuttack.
The Chief Minister thanked Orissa High Court for this unique initiative and said that an archive is not only collection of documentary heritage of a nation, but also collective memory of institution, and a passive witness of its history.
The Chief Minister also appreciated the efforts of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Dr S. Muralidhar and team in realisation of this unique project.
Mentioning that the centre will be immensely beneficial to historians and legal luminaries, the CM said access to scholars & public will stimulate academic activities.
The Chief Minister added research works and publication of academic journals will enhance awareness on #Odisha’s judicial heritage.
The Odisha Government t is always keen to support and strengthen the judicial and legal infrastructure in the State, the CM said while adding that the State Government has allotted land for the centre, and will continue to provide all kinds of support for any such initiative.
The CM commended Orissa High Court for its initiative to preserve judicial history and promote judicial heritage.
