Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment as Odisha Millets Mission (OMM) has bagged Poshak Anaaj Award for “Global Model on Millet Promotion” during International Nutri-Cereal Convention (INCC) 5.0 anchored by Indian Institute of Millets Research in Hyderabad.
Swayam Shraddha Mahila Mahasangha also received the ‘Poshak Anaaj Award’ for ‘Best SHG (Millet Processing)’ during the convention.
Odisha has been awarded for its pro-people farm to plate approach in Odisha Millets Mission which brings together multiple stakeholders under a single platform to address issues of food security, nutrition, climate change, women empowerment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Principal Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, and Kalpana Pradhan, Scheme Officer of Odisha Millets Mission along with Mission Shakti WSHG representatives from Swayam Shraddha Mahila Mahasangha received the awards from Governor of Telangana Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.
