CM Naveen Dedicates Netaji Bus Terminal in Cuttack

Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated the newly built state-of-the-art Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal under the 5T initiative at Cuttack for the people of the State.

Along with this, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 9 development projects in Cuttack city and laid the foundation stone for 4 projects.

The project, worth a total of Rs 541 crore, was inaugurated and the foundation stone laid today, according to an official release issued by the CMO.

Attending the inauguration program organized in Cuttack, the Chief Minister said that today is a day of celebration for our city of Cuttack. Various projects worth more than Rs 540 crore have been started for the city.

Cuttack is the favorite city of the people of Odisha. Cuttack Puja, Cuttack Bali Yatra, Barbati Cricket Match, SCB Medical College have always been the big identity of Odisha. We have to make this identity even more glorious, the CM said.

The Chief Minister further said that Cuttack is a city of thousands of years. This city is now taking a new shape. The festival of transformation continues. The pride of Odisha, Ravenshaw College has become a university today. The work is in progress to transform SCB Medical College into an AIIMS Plus Health Institution, the CM added.

Transformation in health, education, communication, and infrastructure is indicating for a prosperous future. The Chief Minister appealed to the public that the transformation process will continue with their support and the welfare programs and schemes implemented in the state such as Mission Shakti program, 5T school transformation, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, Jaga Mission for slum dwellers have created hopes in the common people and brought smiles to the faces of crores of people, he said.

The Chief Minister said, “Cuttack city is my favorite city, my native land. Cuttack has always been special to me and will remain so forever”.

It is worth mentioning that the Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal built at a cost of Rs 90 crore has been arranged to accommodate 192 buses simultaneously. Airport-like facilities for passengers are provided inside the terminal with all the latest facilities including lounges for passengers, separate ticket counters for men and women. The Aahar kendra built here is the largest Aahar Kendra in Odisha. It also has Mission Shakti Cafe.

Today, the Chief Minister also flagged off the first bus to Puri from this new terminal.

It is worth mentioning that on the instructions of the Chief Minister in March 2020, 5T Secretary V.K. Pandian visited Cuttack Badambadi bus stand and informed the Chief Minister after assessing the situation there. Later, the Chief Minister ordered the construction of a new state-of-the-art bus stand at Khannagar.

The 5T Secretary thanked the people of Cuttack for their full cooperation in the construction of this new bus terminal.
