Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will today inaugurate the Drink From Tap project under the Sujal Mission for Cuttack today. Under this project, more than 1.4 lakh households having a population of more than 7 lakh people will get 24*7 clean drinking water in their homes.
The project is being undertaken with an expenditure of Rs 790 Crore. In the first phase, water from Mahanadi will be transported to CDA, Jagatpur and Pratapnagari water treatment plants and from there clean drinking water will be supplied to the households in those areas in newly laid pipes.
In the pilot project, the Cantonment and ward number 48 in Jagatput areas will be supplied clean water. The target is to supply clean drinking water to each and every household in Cuttack and outskirts by the end of 2023.
