CM Naveen to Launch Two Major Irrigation Projects In Mayurbhanj Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Giving a boost to the irrigation capacity of Mayurbhanj district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will launch two major irrigation projects on Subernarekha and Deo rivers tomorrow.

The Chief Minister is also scheduled to launch several other development projects in the district during his visit tomorrow.

The Chief Minister will launch the release of water from the Subernarekha Irrigation Project at a function being held at Rasgobindpur which will irrigate more than 17 thousand hectares of farm land. This is in addition to the 15 thousand hectares of farm land being irrigated by the project currently.

Naveen had launched the first phase of the irrigation project in July 2021. The Project, being undertaken in phases, aims to irrigate a total area of 1,14,200 hectares agricultural land in Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts. The local economy is going to get a major boost through increased agriculture production with these projects.

The second major irrigation project to be launched by the Chef Minister during his visit tomorrow is the Deo Irrigation Project at Karia, which would irrigate around 10,000 hectares in Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.
