Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will today lay the foundation stone for the SVKM’s-NMIMS University at Infovalley Bhubaneswar.
Establishment of this world-class institute by the Narsee Monjee group will promote qualitative higher education and research in the state. The State Government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal Trust (SVKM) to set up the university with an initial investment of Rs 300 crore. The Institute will be named SVKM’s-NMIMS University.
According to sources, the Odisha Government has allocated 40 acres of land in Goudakashipur near Jatni, free of cost for this purpose. The Government will also facilitate land identification and provide essential utilities. The land is allocated for an initial period of 30 years with free registration. The lease is extendable for a period of 30 years and is exempt from the annual maintenance charges of IDCO. The institute will reserve thirty percent seats for students belonging to Odisha based on merit.
