Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviewed the development works related to the new SCB Hospital Complex project in Cuttack. Naveen visited the reclaimed land site in Hadiapata in Cuttack and held a firsthand experience of the works. He interacted with the officials regarding the project and advised to speed up the works. Along with this Naveen also reviewed the development works on the 424 acres of reclaimed land that is to be used to develop various citizen centric infrastructures.
In his speech, Naveen said “The reclamation of land from our lifeline Mahanadi, has created a once in a lifetime opportunity to breath fresh life into the core of our ancient city. Every inch of this 424 acres will be utilized to add Ecological, recreational, sporting, cultural, aspirational, technological, value in the lives of the people of Cuttack.
It will be the State Governments endeavor to prepare a“ Decongestion Plan “ for Cuttack so as to enable our beloved millennium city to have wider roads, better accessibility, Public spaces and utilities, Parks and modern urban infrastructure including parking space and greenery. Our objective will be to keep most of the reclaimed area with greenery and open spaces and utilize the rest of the land for the development purpose, beautifully surrounded by an International class river front.
In this transformative process we will engage the best in class city planners and also take feedback from the people so that they actively contribute to make it a CITIZENs PLAN.
The state will invest the necessary resources and I would sincerely appeal to the people of Cuttack to actively cooperate and participate to make this dream a reality.
The Chief Minister reviewed all the aspects of the development project on the reclaimed land on the Mahanadi river bed. The Special Development Package includes development of the ring road into a six lane one.
The international standard river front project will decongest the city and provide the much needed green space.
