Cuttack: With the instruction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has geared up to implement ‘Ganjam Model’ with many new features.
CMC has devised a comprehensive strategy to curb the Coronavirus in the city.
Speaking exclusively to the Newsroom.co.in, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das said that it has been decided to ramp up testing and carry out extensive door to door health screening in city particularly slum and vulnerable areas.
As many as 15 rapid action force have been formed who will do launch massive screening campaign.
In order to make it more effective, the CMC has spilt it into two categories of patients, i.e one is patients with comorbidity condition and other one is people with no comorbidity condition, Das added.
During the door to door health screening , a team of AYUSH doctors, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will cover each and every household so that no one could left out, Das said.
The team with monitor the temperature and oxygen level of each individual during the door to door survey.
Spelling out CMC’s plan for robusting health infrastructure in the city, she said, we have added 150 ICU beds in Covid hospitals to cater to the need of the serious patients and subsequently it will reduce the mortality rate, Das added.
She further said that at least 39 more ICU beds will be operationalized soon to provide better health care facility to the people.
Apart from this, CMC also plans to put more number of Ambulance into service so that people can reach hospitals easily.
Besides CMC has also focused on the sensitization of the various sensitive places like public offices, Covid hospitals, roads and areas where the patients are in home isolation.
CMC further rolled out special vehicle to collect the solid waste from the doorstep of the patients in Home isolation.
It also provides medical kits with advisory to the patients in home isolation.
The civic body has also undertaken major community outreach through ward level committee meetings and virtual webinars with puja committees and sahi committees of the city.
Meanwhile the positivity rate in CMC area stands at 7.40% in last 25 days. With robust plan in place, the Commissioner hopes that the positivity rate will move southward in next week.
