Coal India Contributes Rs 50.31 Crore to Odisha CMRF for Restoring Power Infra

Bhubaneswar: State-owned miner Coal India Ltd (CIL) today contributed Rs 50.31 crore to Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for rebuilding of power infrastructure ravaged by cyclone Fani.

Coal Secretary Sumanta Chaudhuri handed over the cheque of the said amount to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here in the presence of company’s chairman Anil Kumar Jha, Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Jena, Energy Secretary Bishnupada Sethi and others.

The restoration works will be carried out by Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL).

As per sources, three 220 KV and two 132 KV power transmission lines damaged during Fani will be reconstructed for power supply to Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and other places.

The Chief Minister thanked the Coal India for the donation.
