Coastal And Southern Odisha To Witness Heavy Rains Due To Cyclonic Circulation

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in most of the coastal and Southern districts of Odisha in the next two to three days due to the impact of the Cyclonic Circulation that has formed over east-central Bay of Bengal. The MET Department has issued yellow warning to nine districts – Ganjam Gaapati, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal that will receive heavy rains. Already many places in coastal Odisha hsuch as Puri, Khordha, Ganjam and Cuttack have started receiving rains.

The Cyclonic Circulation is expected to become a low pressure by Tuesday over west-central and North-Western Bay of Bengal due to which the state is likely to receive heavy rains on 20th and 21st September. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea from 20th September.
