Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions continued to prevail in many districts of Odisha especially in the interior and western districts of the state with temperatures falling below normal. Daringbadi in Kandgamal district recorded 3.5 degrees Celsius last night which is lowest in the state. Phulbani, headquartes of Kandhamal recorded temperature of 4. Degrees Celsius. In western Odisha, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Subernapur reeled under cold wave conditions with mercury dipping below 10 degrees. A thick layer of frost and ice was seen on tree leaves, cars and roofs in Daringbadi and adjoining areas. People in interior Sundargarh district such as Bonai and Koida remained indoors due to severe cold wave conditions. Jharsuguda is also experiencing record dip in temperatures this year. Overall, 19 places in the state have recorded temperatures below ten degrees last night.
According to the Meteorological Center, the severe cold wave conditions will continue in the next two to three days over the state. Temperatures in major cities of the state remained as follows:
