Commissionerate Police Nabs Two More Criminals after Encounter in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday arrested two more criminals following an encounter in Tankapani area here.

The criminal duo has been identified as Sipun Kabi and Harekrushna Swain, reports said.

As per sources, Inspector-in-charge of Dhauli police station received information at around 2.45 am that that some criminals had taken shelter at a flat near Dhauli. They were members of the same gang of which two were apprehended by the police in Saturday’s encounter.

Acting on the tip-off, the Dhauli IIC and his team proceeded to nab the criminals. While the cops reached the apartment the miscreants left the place and moved towards Tankapani Road in a Bike.

As the cops chased the criminals and intercepted them at Chili Pokhari area under Badagada police limits.

Instead of stopping miscreants opened fired at the chasing police party and the police team exercising right to private defence opened four rounds of controlled fire at the miscreants which resulted in the injuries of both the criminals in their legs .

From their possession the police has seized one country made mouser one live ammuniation, one toy pistol ,one Hero Honda Glamour bike a long with cash of Rs 50,000 ,three mobile phones .

Both the injured have been shifted to SCB from Capital Hospital and further investigation is on, police said.
