Consider Teaching a Commitment, Not A Profession: Naveen To Newly Recruited Teachers

Bhubaneswar: You are all young and very enthusiastic. So, don’t take teaching as a profession and work on it as a commitment. I believe you will play an important role in brightening the future of the children of my Odisha. These were the words of advice of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to the newly recruited 6891 teachers of state during their Orientation Program held at the Kalinga Stadium Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the teacher recruitment program is continuing vigorously in the State and more than 14 thousand teachers have been recruited in the last 3 years. Congratulating them for joining a great career like teaching, the Chief Minister said that teachers are the builders of the nation and the glory of the nation.

He said, “You are taking the sacred responsibility of building the future generation of the country”. Education is not only for an individual or a family or a society, but education changes the destiny of a nation, Naveen added.
Highlighting the 5T Transformation program of the Government, he said that education is the most powerful tool of transformation. Transparency, Technology, Teamwork, Time and Transformation are the mantras of our administrative system, he said.

Speaking about high school transformation program going on, the Chief Minister said that transformation works at nearly 4000 schools in the state have been completed. Another 4,000 schools will be transformed by December 2023, he added.

You must have seen the transformation of schools in your Villages and Blocks. School Transformation has brought new enthusiasm among the students. To transform that enthusiasm into the success of life is your responsibility. The knowledge, dedication and sacrifice of teachers can only bring transformation in the field of education.

Participating in the program, the teachers have said that, the arrangement of the program in the presence of the Chief Minister gives the message to the whole world how teachers are welcomes in the state and respected. Speaking on the selection process, they said we have been selected in a very transparent process in a short time. We will work with full commitment to develop the knowledge of the students and their all round development.
