COVID-19: BMC Introduces Odd-Even Scheme for Public Transport Vehicles

Bhubaneswar: In yet another significant development, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today ordered that the public transport vehicles with odd number plates will ply on odd dates and vehicles with even number plates on even dates.

The order comes in compliance with the ‘Odisha COVID-19 Regulation, 2020’ where Municipal Commissioner has been designated as the empowered officer to take measures for containment of the COVID-19 diseases and as powers as under Section 583 to 599 of Odisha Municipal Corporation Act, 2003 to check the spread of infectious disease.
Meanwhile, BMC has issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the same.
